Bad day on the field for Weston with three defeats

Your support is needed at Bridgwater on Tuesday evening for Weston's Somerset Cup semi-final against North Petherton, kick off 7.30pm

Weston 1stXV were beaten 54-8 away to Amersham & Chiltern in the SSE National Three South West league; Weston United were beaten 57-12 at home to Tribute Somerset Premier league leaders Stothert & Pitt while Weston Athletic lost 58-5 their Tribute Somerset 2 North match away to Nailsea & Backwell.

In the SSE National Three South West league's other matches, league champions Lydney won 35-17 away to Worcester Wanderers while Redingensians remain second after coming back from being 5-nil down to win 27-5 way to Avonmouth Old Boys, Weston's visitors on Saturday (April 12), who are relegated.

Bracknell remain four points behind Redingensians, with both sides having two games to play, were 41-10 home winners over Newton Abbot but forth placed Brixham lost 17-13 at home to Old Centralians who have three games remaining.

Chippenham may have been already relegated but they were leading Old Patesians 27-nil but the visitors came back with 29 points in the final 20 minutes to ease their relegation worries. Old Patesians' final league game is on Saturday week (April 19) when they visit Weston.
