South West Premier 2017/18

1 week ago By Pete Sloman

Please see details below of the 1st XV division for next year.....

Firstly, in their wisdom, it is reported that the RFU have decided that National 3 South West will be renamed South West Premier!

The sides in the division will be:

Bournemouth
Bracknell
Brixham
Camborne
Cleve
Exmouth
Hornets
Ivybridge
Lydney
Maidenhead
Newton Abbot
Weston-super-Mare
winner of play off: Newbury / Old Pats v Clevedon

That gives 13 sides. The final place will be made up either by Barnstaple ( if they are relegated) or Dings ( if they lose the National 3 play off). If both of these events happen, then it would be likely that Maidenhead or Bracknell would level transfer to another region.

If Barnstaple stay up and Dings win the play off, then a side will need to level transfer from another region into the South West, as happened to Bromsgrove this year.
