Lydney crowned league champions as they send Chippenham down.

Weston-super-Mare returned to winning ways with a 39-29 home victory over Worcester Wanderers to take maximum points which ensures that the Seasiders retain their SSE National Three South West status next season.

The home side went in to the break 17-12 ahead after tries from flanker Paul Morrissey, converted by fly-half Chris Young, centre Sylvan Edwards and replacement prop Phil Hobbs.

Worcester's replied with a tries from No.8 Brad Cook, when skipper David Swann was serving ten minutes in the sin-bin, and wing Ed Whitehead which fly-half Tom Biggs converted.

Morrissey crossed for Weston's bonus point try but after Edwards had crossed for his second, with the game in to the final quarter, the openside flanker became the second Seasiders' second player to be yellow carded.
A try from centre Ollie Meadows, converted by Biggs, reduced the arrears for the visitors before No.8 Dave Bufton and second row Ed Hunt crossed the whitewash with Young adding the extras to the first.

But late in the game replacement second row Andy Reid crossed for Worcester's fifth try.

On Saturday, Weston travel to face Amersham & Chiltern who lost 22-10 away to second placed Redingensians.

Lydney scored 12 tries, three of them penalty tries, to by crowned league champions and promotion with a 71-17 home victory over Chippenham who are now the first of the three sides to be relegated.

In the Tribute Somerset Two North league, Weston Athletic had a 19-12 victory away to Bristol Harlequins 2ndXV with the Seasiders sixth in the table with four games to play.
