Bumper crowd for local derby clash

A bumper crowd was at the Drove Road Recreation Ground to witness the first ever league game between Weston-super-Mare and neighbours Hornets but, as far as the home supporters were concerned, it was the wrong result as Hornets won 34-3.

Hornets are now third in the table, two points behind Exmouth and another seven adrift of league leaders Redingensians, while Weston have dropped a place to one off the foot of the table, two points behind Old Patesians and Old Redcliffians.

Weston's points came through an Iain Chisholm penalty while Hornets ran in five tries including two for prop Alec Chase.
