They are still waiting for they're kit to arrive, but thanks to Bristol Bears Community Foundation support the Roses U15's played their first game today at North Bristol today. The girls have come a long way with in just a few weeks. Former Weston Mini's Player and coach Esme Bird has done a fantastic job galvanising a team together. A few weeks ago many had not even picked up a rugby ball.
With Weston-Super-Mare's Nando's providing the support they needed to get off the ground. On the 1st of June they head to Twickenham as guests of the RFU. This is all thanks to The Premiership Project Rugby and Bristol Bears Community Foundation and of course the girls themselves who chose to come to a club that had no established girls set up.
Volunteers are being sought to help Esme and the girls. If you have an interest in coaching or are studying sports coaching at College then this would be an ideal opportunity for you.
The club has a growing number of girls and women playing. We are really keen to develop sides at all ages. You don't need to have any experience.
