George Sparks will lead Weston-super-Mare in their National Three South West campaign in the coming season for what will be the Weston College Sports Lecturer's second spell as club captain.
The 32 year old back rower, who had two seasons as skipper between 2010 and 2012, that he is looking forward to taking-up the role of captain again as what he says will be an exciting season for the club.
"I am looking forward to leading the club again because I think I have learnt a fair bit from the last time that I did it and I think that things are shaping-up for a fresh start for the club this season," said Sparks.
"My aim is always to play rugby for the Weston club so the fact that I have been asked to be captain is not the be all and end all for me really because there are plenty of other players that could be captain and who lead the side in certain areas of play.
"They could be leading the line-outs, scrums or defence so I have plenty of good blokes around me which benefits the whole team. I have to call heads or tails, then be the contact with the referee during the game and then it is all down to a team effort after that."
