Ex-Weston player Brian Saunders passes away

Brian Saunders passed away on Tuesday 17th. April, aged 71.

He represented the County Schools Union, taking on numerous positions including coach and Director of the under 15s.

He was then elected Secretary of Somerset Schools, and then became Somerset representative on the England Schools Rugby Union...a position he held for 18 years.

He also served as England under 16s secretary followed by two years as Chairman of the Group.

In 2004, he was awarded life membership of the ERSFU. He was involved for many years as President of Somerset RFU, Chairman and long serving committee member involving all aspects.

Remarkably, Brian was in his 50th. year of involvement with Somerset RFU.

The funeral will take place on Thursday 3rd May at Weston super Mare Crematorium, Ebdon Rd, Worle, Weston-Super-Mare, BS22 9N
