the first XV score a last minute converted try for the second week running, to win 30 - 29 at highly fancied Exmouth.

TWENTY points from fly-half James Mackay, including a conversion deep in time added-on, secured Weston-super-Mare 30-29 win away to Exmouth the second week in a row that the visitors have left it late to snatch victory.

Weston built up a 13-nil lead in the opening half hour thanks to Mackay, who is quickly establishing himself as an worthy replacement for the kicking skills of Kiwi Glenn Dickson during the second half of last season.

Mackay kicked two penalties and the conversion of his own touchdown but Exmouth clawed their way back in to the game in the next 30 minutes to nudge themselves in to a one point lead.

Inside centre Mark Wathes was the first to score for the home side with a try under the posts, converted by fly-half Jon Fabian to leave Exmouth trailing 13-7 at the interval.

But Wathes second try, four minutes after the restart, converted again Wathes put the home side in front but they were then reduced to 14 men when lock Stuart Lowe was yellow carded.

Weston failed to capitalise on their one-man advantage with Mackay kicking a third penalty just after the hour only for a kick from Fabian putting the home side back in front.

With the game going in to the final ten minutes a break from deep in their own half saw lock Ashley Russell, converted by Mackay, but Exmouth replied through left wing Jack Downie, converted by Fabian, kept Exmouth in front.

Lowe redeemed his earlier transgression with a touchdown, converted by Fabian, only for full back Andrew Powell to be the second Exmouth player to be sent to the sin-bin by referee Ed Walter.

Weston sealed the game with a pushover try which replacement No.8 Ned Barker claimed leaving Mackay to convert on the stroke of full time to take the points.
