The welcome return from injury of captain George Sparks and flanker Rich Bignall gave Weston a renewed confidence that had been lacking in recent weeks.
Weston elected to play into the breeze in the first half and were soon rewarded with a penalty by fly half Dan Lomax. The lead was extended when inside centre Kirk Middlemiss intercepted. Weston increased their lead after left wing Matt Watkins made ground up the line and after the ball was recycled Lomax produced a superb cross field kick to put right wing Ollie Caton over. Lomax converting.
A big Weston scrum led to scrum half Hayden Tuttiett releasing Lomax who fed outside centre Huw Morgan whose strong run ended in a fine score. Lomax again adding the extras.
Two early yellow cards for the hosts led to the visitors cutting the lead through a fine try and conversion by full back Andy Taylor, who proved elusive throughout. Weston responded with a well taken try by left wing Matt Watkins who latched onto a superb through kick from Lomax. Charlie Daniels then cut the lead when he ran a fine line to breach the home defence with Taylor again converting. Weston however finished off a fine afternoons work when following a big scrum from the home side the ball was spun from right to left for Watkins to collect his second and then with the final move of the game a Lomax dummy and sublime off load put influential full back Ross Bennett over to complete the victory.
This Saturday Weston travel to arch rivals Bridgwater with a 2.15 kick off.
