Weston will have to pick themselves up and move on after a disappointing performance against a Wells side they deservedly beat at the start of the season.

Weston fell apart in this fixture and were lucky to get away with only conceding 10 tries because Wells sportingly stopped scoring as they romped home.

Despite a promising start and a close opening 10 minutes many Weston players stopped competing for the ball, avoided contact with the Wells team and in some cases started bickering amongst themselves.

Once again though the commitment and ability of a few was evident its whether others can follow their example because the ability is there, its just the confidence which appears to be stopping the commitment the team needs.

Tom Burge scrummaged well, Matthew James at hooker made an impact at every breakdown and tackled like a demon. Hobbs Gaulton was busy at scrum half and really appears to relish that role as he made several sniping runs. Dylan Way never shied away from the tackle and never stopped trying. Once again Isaac Bliss brought down players much bigger than him with text book technique and more than a little courage. Jamie Meaden once again put in a solid shift at the coalface as our mainstay 2nd row and others could learn from his willingness to drop on the ball to secure it for his team.

Once again Lottie Dadds showed courage refusing to back away even when a Wells largest player targeted her for his charge for the try line. Despite being flattened, she picked herself and carried on.

The leading performer though was Alfie Calcutt who made yards with every run, was as committed as anyone in the tackle and never stopped trying to secure the ball for his team.
