This was a thrilling match and it went to the wire as Old Bristolians took the game to Weston who tried one too many tricks and kicks. But at least they were making in game decisions and learning from them.
The game ebbed and flowed, Weston gave up too many yards as some bad habits returned with some attempted tackles looking a bit like they were trying to flag down a passing bus instead of stopping an opponent score a try!
The ball handling was good though and despite missing the injured Dylan Way they were once again competing well around the rucks and mauls where they even began counter rucking.
Despite securing good ball and making good yards Alfie Calcutt at fly half was not able releasing his backs with the ball, but with this only his second time in this position his incisive running was taking Weston beyond the gain line.
Two tries by Matthew James whose instinctiveness to pick and go bought those tries was supported by Alfie Calcutt who sprinted through a gap to put to score.
OB's were never out of it and only a foot in touch at the try line and a ball held as time expired ensured victory.
