Weston U11s remain unbeaten - Clevedon

The second match saw Weston take on the hosts Clevedon RFC in another hard fought encounter. Similar to the first game Weston were slow to start and it was the home side who scored first with a well deserved converted try. This was the wakeup call for Weston and following some good work by the forwards in midfield, Tilsley broke through Clevedon’s defensive line to record Weston’s first score which he successfully converted. Weston were then dealt a blow when the hard working George Bamsey had to leave the field through injury. With half time approaching a great run saw full back Brandon Charlton put Weston ahead with an unconverted try. The half time score was Clevedon 7 - 12 Weston.

The second half was a hard fought affair but with great driving runs from Gardner, Bird, J Bamsey, Davies, Chambers, Rogerson and Kerrigan, Weston soon extended their lead with the powerful Jack Howard bagging a pair of well deserved tries. Tilsley successfully converting both and the full time score being Clevedon 12 – Weston 26.

Credit must be given to both B-o-S and Clevedon who worked extremely hard to record Weston’s first defeat, and well done to the whole Weston team for a great first half to the season and for remaining unbeaten so far!
