Counties 2 Somerset
Weston United 29 Imperial 34
Weston United came close to making it back-to-back wins as they led visitors Imperial 29-24 with ten minutes left to play at the Recreation Ground.
But Imperial were not prepared to settle for a losing bonus point as they scored two late unconverted tries to snatch the game to complete a season's double over the Seasiders.
Imperial went into the break 19-3 ahead after three tries and two conversions with skipper Archie Tilseley kicking a penalty for the hosts on the stroke of half time.
Scrum-half PJ Grimes reduced the shortly after the restart with full-back Sam Hedges crossing the whitewash ten minutes later. Tilsley converted both.
Imperial received their second yellow card of the game when referee Alex Priddle awarded Weston United a penalty try.
Minutes later the match official sent a player from both sides to ten minutes in the sin-bin thus reducing Imperial to 13 players.
Despite this, Imperial regained the lead with an unconverted try but this was shortlived as centre Ollie Caton claimed the Seasiders' bonus point try.
Tilsley converted to give his side a 29-24 lead but Imperial, already with a try-scoring bonus point in the bag, when on to take maximum points from the game with two tries.
