
Weston-super-Mare will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to eight games as the Regional 2 Tribute Ale South West league leaders travel to face eighth-place North Petherton under lights on Friday evening, kick-off is at 7.30 pm.
Ashley Russell will be making his 450th appearance for the Weston 1stXV having made his first team debut in the National League 3 South 14-5 home victory over Redruth in December 2002 playing as blindside flanker. Only Chris Brown (1967/68 - 1994/95) 461 and Colin Couch (1954/55 – 1970/71) 452 have played more games.
The visitors are eight points clear of second-placed Okehampton, who have played one more game. North Petherton have won their last two games – at home to Penzance & Newlyn and away to Cullompton.
This will be the first league meeting between the two sides since January 2017, when Weston-super-Mare were the 24-18 home winners, having also been the victors on the previous three occasions.
Ryan Watterston will start on the left wing in the absence of the prolific try-scorer Hayden Main and Archie Tilsey returns at fly-half. In the pack, Maison Turner is at tighthead prop, Russell returns from injury to the second row with Tom Sugg at blindside flanker.

Having lost their Counties 4 Tribute Ale South season’s opener away to Wells 2ndXV, Weston Athletic have won three games and awarded a WalkOver to take them up to third-place in the table.
