Unbeaten Regional 2 Tribute Ale South West league leaders Weston-super-Mare have signed 20-year-old Maison Turner (pictured), who can play on either side of the front row, ahead of Saturday's match away to second-placed Teignmouth, who are three points behind.

The Apprentice Electrician, who can also play in the second row, joins Weston from neighbours Hornets, where he came through their age-groups since he started playing aged six. He made his debut for the Hornets 2ndXV during the 2023/24 season and has made 40 appearances for them.

Turner has also represented the Somerset County side at the Under-18 and Under-20 levels, and he says that one of his most memorable games was the Somerset Under-20s' 33-33 draw with their Cornwall counterparts at Redruth, following the hosts' late try.

"I hope that switching to play for Weston will help me push myself to a higher level," said Turner, who will start from the replacements bench on Saturday. "I want to get as much game time as possible and be part of a promotion-winning side."

Weston-super-Mare, who will be looking to maintain their unbeaten league form against the Devon club, have Cam Maslen back at outside centre and Archie Tilseley at fly-half. The one change in the pack sees George Talbot coming into the second row to join Ashley Russell.
