On a beautiful morning in the sun, Weston played host to near neighbours, Yatton.
Unlike last week, Weston started brightly and had significant early possession but it was Yatton who got on the score board first, in fact opening up a 12-0 lead. However, the home team roared back with new recruit Jack Healey scoring his first try, diving for the corner to get the home team on the board.
This was quickly followed by scores from Dylan Carter, JJ Weall and a first ever try for relative new boy Callum John.
This took Weston into a 24-17 lead heading into the final, frantic quarter.
Initially Weston went out to what should have been a comfortable lead with a try from Jack Groom, but Yatton were not done and came back strongly to narrow the scores to 31-29 with only a few minutes left.
But it was Jack Groom once again, who with his trademark short line, who broke the Yatton defence and clinched the victory - 36-29.
A great day of rugby, completely at odds with last weeks superb defensive performance, this week, for Weston, it was all about the offence.
Hopefully next week the side will be able to combine both aspects into an even better performance.
