The scoreline reflects just how close this opening Somerset RFU Colts League game was for both sides in a fine display of running rugby.
Gordano took the lead with a try after ten minutes but the Weston lads battled hard to deny their hosts any further score in the opening 35 minutes.
The start of the second half saw the Weston side energised and they levelled the scores through a try from scrum half Rowan Bird.
The home side regained the lead ten minutes later with a converted try as both sides continued their battle till the final whistle in attempts to trouble the scoreboard further.
“We lost out at the breakdown and our support play is probably lacking a little at the moment but that will come by training together and playing together,” said Colts coach Gavin Simpson.
“We have a good squad and we are pulling things together to find that extra five percent that would have turned this game around.
“We want to put the ball into wide spaces and we made a lot of nice breaks but just lost the ball in contact.
“You have to remember that Gordano got to the final of the Somerset Colts Cup last season so this was a really good measurable test for the lads - only losing 12-5 away from home in their first league game of the season.”
